An individual competitor may not be part of a team.

Competitors must not be accompanied or paced by cyclists, vehicles or un-entered competitors.  If this occurs the competitor will be disqualified.

Competitors must keep to the Rail Trail.  Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

The race number must be worn as issued and must not be altered.  Only competitors wearing official race numbers will be allowed to finish.

Marshalls will control all road crossings.  Competitors must adhere to their directions and must stop when directed to. Vehicle traffic has right of way at crossings.

Our Safety Plan requires that cyclists must dismount at all road crossings and push bikes across.  Marshalls directions must be followed.

Helmets are compulsory on the cycle stage.

Competitors must make their own arrangements for transport of bikes between stages.

Drink stations will be located at each transition point.

Every team member must do at least one complete stage.

All stages must be completed by the team member starting the stage.

Transport:
Middlemarch township is one hours drive from Dunedin and is the closest town to where the event is being held.

Competitors are required to provide their own transport and race support for the event.

General:
Duathlon competitors need to be self sufficient.  The course is along the Otago Central Rail Trail which has a gravel surface, in generally good condition.  No roads are closed for this event.  Normal road rules apply, competitors must dismount at all road crossings and follow marshalls instructions.  Motorists have right of way at all times. There is one tunnel on the first run stage so a torch is advised.
